Graduate Students



 

Shirley Hodges

Shirley is a second year doctorate student in the Counseling Psychology program at USM. She received a BS in psychology and a BA in English from Shorter College in Rome, GA.  Shirley is interested in doing research with eating disorders and working with clients who have body dissatisfaction. She is currently working on the CEMI with Drs. Madson and Bullock.

   

Ruth Findeisen

Ruth is an undergraduate psychology major. She wishes to pursure graduate studies in counseling.

 

Andrew Loignon

Andy is currently a first year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at USM. He received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Southern Maine . Andy is interested in doing research concerning the impact of MI upon exercise and diet behavior.

 

Heather Necaise

Heather is a second year master’s student in the Counseling Psychology program at USM. She received her B.S. in psychology. Heather plans to work in the area of substance abuse counseling after receiving her M.S. She is currently working with Dr. Madson on studying the affect of an addiction simulation exercise on counselor attitudes toward substance users.

  Raquel Shutze

Raquel is a second year master’s student in the Counseling Psychology program at USM. She received her B.S. in Psychology and Social and Rehabilitation Services. Raquel plans to work in the area of substance abuse counseling after receiving her M.S. She is currently working with Dr. Madson on integrating motivational interviewing in  a residential alcohol and drug treatment program.
 

Alayna Speed

Alayna is a second year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at USM. She has a BS in psychology. Alayna plans to work with families and couples dealing with substance abuse issues. Her thesis research, directed by Dr. Madson, will examine the training of graduate psychology students in MI. She is currently working on the development of the CEMI with Drs. Madson and Bullock.
