Probably most people on campus are at least somewhat familiar with the College of Health Ambassadors. Some of our very “best and brightest,” these students from across the six College of Health departments and schools are a mainstay of campus recruitment events, health fairs and other health related projects, and both campus and community service of various kinds. They are truly “servant leaders,” one and all.
Students (especially the best ones) have this nasty habit of graduating, of course, occasioning the need to annually replenish the Ambassador corps. That summer exercise is upon us, and I was today delighted to discover – thanks to the excellent work of the Ambassadors themselves in building a superb image, and the helpful coordination of Ms. Dianne Coleman, their advisor – that applications to join the Ambassadors are at an all-time high, approximately three times the number of available slots.
If this is a sign (and I think it is), 2013-2014 promises to be an outstanding year.
