- Go to class religiously.
This is the first time no one is there to compel them to attend class. Each professor sets his/her own attendance policy.
- Get to know the instructors personally.
Students should ask questions, show interest, and sit towards the front of the class. This will make it easier for them to ask for help.
- Live on campus if possible.
It is a great place to meet people. It is more convenient to go to class, park, and get involved on campus.
- Get involved in campus life.
Here are some ways to get involved: on-campus jobs, student organizations, Greek life, ROTC, Intramural Sports, and many more!
- Get organized and use a planner.
Time management is hard for students. They are having to multi-task and look ahead towards the future. Writing things down in a planner is a great way to stay on top of things.
- Find constructive ways to reduce stress.
Students can exercise in the Payne Center and have access to our counseling and health services. Spending time with friends and meeting new people is another great way to reduce stress.
- Get some rest.
Students need to take care of their body, eat healthy meals, and find time to sleep!
