The archaeological internship program allows two graduate students to work the U.S. Forest Service in the DeSoto and Chickasawhay National Forest near Hattiesburg. The positions are normally limited to second-year graduate students, and are assigned on a competitive basis. The internships include two summers of full-time work in addition to part-time work during the academic year. Up to two undergraduates are eligible for summer archaeological internships. Two awards were given during the 2006-07 academic year to graduate students David Martin and Andrew Thompson To find out more information about the internship program, contact Dr. James Flangan for details. |
