Lin Harper, Ph.D.

Assistant Dean and Executive Director iCoRE

Dr. Lin Harper serves as Assistant Dean in the College of Arts and Letters and Executive Director of the Institute for Collaborative Research and Engagement (iCoRE). She is responsible for encouraging and assisting with external funding for faculty research, assisting the dean and associate dean with various projects and student support, and teaching in Interdisciplinary Studies and Nonprofit Studies. iCoRE also functions as administrative umbrella for The Southern Quarterly and is active in supporting and engaging faculty with digital humanities activities in the college. 

Harper holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with an English minor, a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a doctorate in Adult Education. Her experience includes many years working in non-profit organizations before coming to Southern Miss, where she worked as Director of Distance Learning, Principal Investigator on a five-year $1.5 million Department of Education grant, and as a graduate faculty member in Adult Education.
