A communicable disease is any disease that is transmitted
by infection or contagion directly or through other means. Any
student that contracts or has a communicable disease is required
to:
A. follow prescribed guidelines
by thier attending physician and/or physician from campus student
health,
B. communicate with the assigned
clinical instructor and advise them of the student's health status
and potential for risk to others (such as sports teams, athletic
training certified staff and athletic training students)
Policy:
When an individual's health is such that they present
a health risk to others, by transmitting infection or other communicable
disease, the student may NOT participate in clinical rotations
or field experiences during the time they are affected by the
illness and shall NOT return to clinical participation until given
written clearance by the attending physician and or physician
from campus student health. Students are required to provide written
medical documentation of return to work/class from the physician
to both.
