The Southern Miss Business Assistance Center exists to energize entrepreneurs through educational programming, one-on-one client relationships and business incubator space.
The Southern Miss BAC works with the JCJC Small Business Development Center to build and provide a systematic approach to small business for the current or aspiring entrepreneur.
The initial path to starting a small business begins with First Steps, a class sponsored by the JCJC SBDC. This free class is offered twice a month in both Hattiesburg and Ellisville and is taught by SBDC Director Greg Butler.
After the initial class, clients are invited to meet with the BAC staff, SBDC, or any other service partner at the BAC office in downtown Hattiesburg. The BAC also has office space for rent with its incubator program. No matter what stage of business development, the BAC and its partners can assist in growing and prospering a small business.
