Michael D.
Sneed currently holds the position of Sergeant at Arms on the
NBA Collegiate Chapter Executive Board.
Although born in New Jersey, Michael
grew up in Marietta, GA. He attended McCleskey Middle
School where he first learned to play the French Horn, and the
recorder. Later, Michael toured playing the recorder in
the Boston
Early Music Festival.
Michael also attended Lassiter High School under the direction
of Alfred Watkins and had the opportunity to march in the
Tournament of Roses parade, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day
parade, and BOA Grand Nationals where they received 1st in
1998. While there, Michael was privileged to play in the
BOA National Concert Band Festival and play in the Midwest
Clinic.
Michael is currently a senior music education major and
continues to play the French horn under Mr. Ken Ortlepp.
He is a member of the USM Symphonic Winds ensemble, Carillon
(a nationally known hand bell choir which has toured world
wide), an Orff/Early Music Ensemble, and The Pride Of
Mississippi Marching Band. "My future after
receiving my undergraduate degree is not fully determined
yet," Michael states. He does plan to work on a
master's degree in music education and then teach middle or
high school band.
