MANTAC

USM’s MsET and NASA Technology Application & Commercialization (MANTAC) endeavor supports the implementation of programmatic functions and activities by USM and MsET (Mississippi Enterprise for Technology, Inc. a state supported 501 c3 nonprofit) in working with NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center (SSC) to continue their longstanding technology/industry partnership efforts assisting transitioning space technologies into the commercial sector. With funding provided by NASA, USM’s MANTAC is designed and implemented through three broad interrelated program elements:

  1. Partnership Development Program (PDP) - Undertakes development and management of partnership projects supporting specific technology development and transfer efforts aimed at leading to the successful commercialization of NASA related technologies as well as their spin-in (aka “infusion”) benefits to NASA.
  1. Incubator & Affiliate Company Program (IAC) - Works with MsET, in providing support for MsET’s tech-based business incubator at SSC and to its affiliated companies around the State, in supporting business and economic development related to the transfer of federally sponsored science and technology to the marketplace.
  1. External Relations Program (ERP) - Supports the PDP and IAC programs in conducting a critical crosscutting liaison function between industry, academia and government agencies (local to federal).

USM/BIAC oversees programmatic management of MANTAC and its related PDP projects. Click on the image below to view a power point presentation with additional information on USM’s MANTAC and related PDP projects.
