The Office of Interdisciplinary Studies was also designed to support our Interdisciplinary program minors, and our goals include giving these coordinators and students additional support from the full-time faculty/staff available.
The following is a list of IDS minors and their current student numbers:
Our goals of recruitment, retention, and matriculation related to these minors include providing tangible support for their coordinators and activities. We believe we can, with concentrated recruiting efforts, some targeted advising, and more general awareness of the minors, their content, and their faculty, create programs that will also flourish. We also believe that, by nurturing these, we will be able to diversify our student body and to allow access to students who have not traditionally attended Southern Miss.
In addition to the undergraduate minors, we also administer the Non-Profit Studies Certificate program.
