It's summertime at Southern Miss--summer classes have begun and several of our faculty are preparing for the summer camps they will offer. Other faculty members are traveling to conduct research or as part of study abroad offerings.
Summer is also a great time for planning, and in the dean's office we are taking full advantage of this time to work on advisement processes and to figure out ways to expand opportunities for internships and similar hands-on experiences for students. Several of our departments are also busy planning symposia, conferences, and other events for next fall. In the coming weeks I'll use this space to keep readers updated on our progress.
