Graduation Day

|

aaa-grad-day-dec08-3.jpgFriday was, of course, our biggest day of the year -- Graduation Day. We started the day off with a graduation breakfast for our graduating seniors, an absolutely terrific bunch. We had a short program in which we recited each student's many accomplishments, and both Dr. Joe Paul, vice president for students affairs, and I said a few words.

Our graduating seniors this term were Michael Ide, sociology & Spanish; Jennifer Ladner, psychology; Whit Meeks, history and Spanish; Elizabeth Brown, exercise science; Robyn White, English; Hillary Lovinggood, graphic communication; Daniel Murin, biochemistry; Angela Baudean, biology; and Maria Hovan, nursing.Such great students! We had a small class this semester; we'll have 75 or 80 graduating in May.

Pictured above are Ladner and Meeks. Each carried the Honors College banner into the coliseum at their respective graduations Friday. That honor is reserved for the Honors College student with the highest GPA of any student graduating in that ceremony. Since we have both a morning and an afternoon ceremony, we have two winners of this honor. Congrats to both!
