Today grades were due, which reminds me that I needed to post a picture of my Honors 301 class. Honors 301 is our prospectus-writing class, in which students write formal research proposals for the project they intend to undertake for their honors theses. I had 16 students in my Tuesday-Thursday section.
I had a great bunch of students, and they're taking on a wide variety of projects, ranging from studies of the Middle Ages to a translation and staging of a French play. I loved doing the class, which was one of four HON301 sections taught in the College this semester. The Honors College thesis is probably the most important element of an honors education. In crafting a thesis students hone their critical thinking, writing, and research skills, all of which will help them succeed in graduate or professional school.
