All of the us in the Honors College say that recruiting for the college is one of the best parts of the job. Think of it: In recruiting we get to meet bright students and tell them about a college we strongly believe in. Tonight was one of our most important recruiting events, a reception for Hattiesburg-area scholars at President Saunders' home. We had a blockbuster turnout, and Dr. Saunders and Dr. Joe Paul, vice president for student affairs (and an Honors College grad!) had eloquent words about Southern Miss and our college.
