Award-winning Dr. Wiest

|
wiest2.jpgGreat news arrived today that one of our Honors College students' favorite profs, Dr. Andy Wiest, has won a prestigious award for his newest book. Here's the word I received from Dr. W.

Yesterday I learned that my book, Vietnam's Forgotten Army:  Heroism and Betrayal in the ARVN (NYU 2008), was chosen to receive the Society for Military History's Distinguished Book Award for 2009 - the top award in the field.

Dr. Wiest has taught HIS101 and 102 for us for years. He's one of our most popular profs, as he works equally hard on his teaching as on his research. He's a vibrant, engaging teacher, just like so many other Honors College profs. I first got to know him when we both taught in the Southern Miss British Studies Program. He's just a terrific guy.

More info on Wiest's book is found here.
