Enjoying the Memphis game

Honors College student Allie Solomon got all decked out for the Memphis game Saturday. (Thanks to Dr. Susan Steen, director of international programs and who teaches Speech Communication in Honors, for passing this along.)

Prospectus students often ask me if coming into the Honors College means they have to give up any part of the college experience. The answer is no! Our students not only hit all the football games (like Allie), but they are active in positions all across campus, ranging from student government to student media to fraternities and sororities. The Honors College focuses students' experiences in the academic arena but doesn't take so much time that students miss out on other college activities. In fact, we want our students to be well-rounded.

I was decked out in my USM regalia for the Memphis game, too, but I have to say my outfit didn't have the allure of Allie's!
