It was great to be back in the office yesterday after a really nice break. People popped in just to say hello...lots of little reunions. While my staff organizes for a big semester, I'll be keeping my mind on the development of goals and objectives for the next 5 to 7 years.
My Corporate Time dayplanner has me scheduled to attend a press conference on the steps of City Hall today. I can't reveal the nature of the planned announcement, but I think it will be well received. Hint: Green will be the color of the day.
Our new VP for Advancement, David Wolf and his wife, Ashli, are in town house hunting. Joe and I will take them to dinner tonight.
Over the break, I made a considerable dent in the stack of books on my "to read" shelf. Two favorites included Jan Karon's newest, Home to Holly Springs, and The Supremes Greatest Hits: The 34 Supreme Court Cases That Most Directly Affect Your Life, by Michael Trachtman.
I chuckled at this today: An elderly man was pulled over for driving 35 mph on the freeway. The policeman leaned in the window and said, "Do you know why I'm stopping you?" The old man responded, "Yessir, I was the only one you could catch.!"
