The first of four interview series kicks off today for the position of University Provost. We are all eager to meet the candidates and get to know them better. The Provost has overarching responsibility for the entire academic enterprise at the University. In other words, the quality of the education students get at Southern Miss is largely reflective of the vision and handiwork of this individual. (No pressure there!)
Also on tap today: I'll be attending a special performance of the Department of Theater's fall semester production of “Doubt”. In just one week, our students will present the play at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) regional conference at Clemson University in South Carolina. This is a signal honor for our theater program and I wish them well.
