The inauguration of a university president is a ceremony full of ritual and ceremony. Although the president is the center of attention, the occasion is really a celebration of the university she serves. I am honored to serve my alma mater, Southern Miss, as its ninth president. I'm looking forward to the events of the day. Already kinfolk and friends have started to arrive. Their support means the world to me.
