As I write this, all Southern Miss campuses are closed. Read below for an update from Pat Joachim at Southern Miss Gulf Coast:

I hope each of you are safe and came through the storm without damage.
Please be aware that you must have a pass to access the Gulf Park Campus. The physical plant department will access the Gulf Park Campus tomorrow. Everything appears to be in good order, but we must be sure. It is my understanding that the Friendship Oak once again stood the ravages of a hurricane and is fine. You are asked not to go to the campus until we have an "all clear" from David Taylor and the Long Beach Police Department.
According to Dr. Hawkins, Director, Gulf Coast Research Lab, their Cedar Point property did fine. The pier at the Halstead Road property suffered some damage but can be repaired.
At this time we do not know, but anticipate being open on Wednesday. Please check the USM web site and local media for the latest information. Essential personnel should report to all sites tomorrow.
