At this time of year, we have much for which to be thankful at Southern Miss. Personally, I am grateful for a rewarding year as president. In addition, I would add as special blessings:
- Students who care and do something about community hunger
- Our newly accredited academic programs
- Three new deans actively working to contribute to a climate of academic success
- Two new vice presidents doing the same
- An athletic program that graduates its athletes at an impressive rate
- Committees and governance groups that really work together
- An office of sustainability
- A record freshmen enrollment
- Record enrollment at Southern Miss Gulf Coast
- All of you.
