Administration of Justice Professor Receives Top Certification

Dr. Tom Payne, associate professor in The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Department of Administration of Justice, recently received recertification of the highest credential, Certified Protection Professional (CPP), by the International American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS).

Professionals who receive the CPP credential have demonstrated expertise in security management principles, concepts, technology and best practices.

In addition to the CPP certification, Payne recently received board certification as an Anti-Terrorism Specialist by the Anti-Terrorism Accreditation Board. Payne and Southern Miss Gulf Coast Academic Dean Tom Lansford have also released a book series on homeland security through Ashgate Publishing. The series, currently comprised of four books, provides case studies which explore key homeland security issues.
