my start of Greek Life and things of the such

Hello all,

I bring greetings as a new associate member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.  I received a bid on Saturday night after the football game.  The game was amazing.  It's hard to describe the emotions that I had as I watched my first kick-off as a Southern Miss student.  I've been coming to games for years but it's a totally different experience as a student.  Following the game, the masses went their separate ways.  I went to the Pi Kappa Phi house and I'm really glad that I went.  Not only was it a great band party but also I received a bid to pledge my allegiance as a permanent Pi Kappa Phi member.  If anyone had asked me if I was going to get involved in Greek Life six months ago, I more than likely would have shrugged my shoulders and said, "probably not... I'll be a junior and I really don't think that's my 'thing'".  I was SO wrong.  Even if you just look at the friendships gained, it's all worth it (there is much more than friendship, though).

Formal rush starts on Monday and I'm more excited than ever.  I signed my bid yesterday, so now I will get to assist in rush with the rest of the Pi Kapps.  I can't vote yet but I can still voice my opinion.  I'll be sure to update as the week goes on.
