I should have an act in the circus with all of the balancing of school work and activities I've been doing. Every night of the week, my fraternity has been involved in something. Whether or not it was stuffing our float for the homecoming parade or participating in a fountain sit, I've been running like crazy. The entire campus has come to life. For the first time ever, there has been a "Black and Gold" team that participated in the homecoming events. In the past, only pre-existing student organizations could participate in the event, but this year, all students who did ont belong to an organization could sign up for the Black and Gold team. They were actually in the lead for a while, too. I am really looking forward to the football game tomorrow! That is definately where I will be... right after my several hour tailgating extravaganza!
Hello all,
Yes, it has been a long time since i have updated... sorry about that. I have been quite swamped lately. Whoever told me that bid day rivaled Christmas was exactly right. I had a blast getting to know my new pledge brothers and listening to a great band and just relaxing on a great weekend made it all better. Since rush, I have been attending weekly fraternity meetings as well as weekly associate meetings. But just as the fraternity offers me a haven to run to, my long term Speech Comm. papers keep beckoning me back to reality. After all, college IS just a little bit more than parties! Actually, I'm not so bitter about my research topics, though. I really am learning a lot and having a good time getting to know people around campus that are available to help me on my journey.
Last weekend, I went to my first date party. It was with the Delta Gamma ladies. When I showed up, I noticed several Pi Kappa Phi brothers that were invited, as well. Seeing them all around campus lets me know I am in the right place. These guys are really involved on campus but yet they are still academically sound enough to win the Aubry K. Lucas award (highest overall GPA) as a fraternity 11 out of 12 semesters. But I ramble - I need to study.
