Entry-Level Technology Requirements

The following competencies have been recommended and approved by the Professional Education Council.

Entering professional education students should be able to perform the following generic computer tasks/applications:

  1. Perform general computer operations, including:
    1. Perform the boot process
    2. Perform virus protection scan
    3. Create folders and subdirectories
    4. Create and use file names and extensions
    5. Search for files and directories
    6. Print selected pages
  2. Use HELP features Perform file manipulation, including:
    1. Retrieve files
    2. Copy, move, delete files
    3. Back up files
    4. Use auto save
    5. Import and export files
  3. Create a word processed document, including:
    1. Enter text
    2. Save document file
    3. Print document file
