Dr. Adkins, a CPA licensed in Mississippi and Alabama, has published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Accounting, Ethics and Public Policy, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Accountancy, Journal of State Taxation, TAXES, Tax Adviser and the CPA Journal, among others. A member of the AICPA, American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, and the Alabama Society of CPAs, she has received university (2007) and departmental (2004) teaching awards at the University of Alabama - Birmingham. She has prior professional experience in banking and with KPMG.
