As all of you are well aware, the national economy has significantly affected all of our lives, and we in higher education have not been excluded. Publically funded support of the University of Southern Mississippi has necessarily been reduced.
Your giving helps us to assist our students in preparing to enter the Accounting profession.
Because of the tough economy, the School of Accountancy has been reluctant to solicit financial support from private donors. Even so, many alumni and friends have continued to give to the School, or to support the College’s financial needs. Thank you for your support at this critical time in higher education. If you find yourself in a position to “pitch in” and have not yet done so, any support you provide will be targeted for:
- Enhancing development and retention of accounting faculty;
- Increasing student achievement awards and recognition;
- Recruiting and placement of students; and
- Providing those undergraduate and MPA students enrolling in USM’s British Studies Program with some financial relief for their participation.
