Mr. Brown is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Mississippi Society of CPAs, and is an educator associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He serves on the Awards, Education, and Scholarship committee of the Mississippi Society of CPAs and is the coordinator of the accounting internship program at USMGC. He has accounting experience in both public practice and industry and maintains a consulting practice providing tax and forensic accounting services. His teaching areas include financial, cost, tax, managerial and governmental accounting.
Professional Honors and Achievements
Mr. Brown has served as a member of the Board of Governors and as president of the Southwest Chapter of the Mississippi Society of CPAs. He has been published in Tax Notes, a national publication of Tax Analysts.

He is the co-author of a managerial accounting textbook now in it’s fourth edition published by Thomson/SouthWestern. He is currently the editor of the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research.

He has received six outstanding teaching awards at Arizona State University and the University of Southern Mississippi, two outstanding research awards from The University of Tennessee at Martin and The University of Southern Maine. Bob is a certified public accountant and has worked for international public accounting firms.
