Service to the University

College assignments:

2007-2008:  Teaching and Assessment

    Faculty Sponsor:

2006-2007:  Association for Information Technology Professionals, Student Chapter: Brought this student organization back into the college. It had been sponsored for several years by another university entity, but membership had dramatically declined after having been the largest AITP student chapter in the state when under COB sponsorship.

    Member:

2006-2007:  Assurance of Learning: Committee charges with developing policies for assurance of learning activities within the college.

2005-2006:  Career Planning and Internship Committee

2004-2005 through 2005-2006:  Distance Learning Committee: Member of a 10 person committee that establishes policy for all distance learning activities, including web-based, independent study, and off-site courses. Recommends hardware/software acquisitions and upgrades.

    Other Institutional Service Activities:

2005-2006 through 2006-2007:  Maintain Sedona databases: Determine data needs for AACSB accreditation, ensure that data is entered and verified.

University assignments: 

    Chair:

2006-2007:  Academic Council: Chair, Academic Council. Conduct all business of council, which includes overseeing the addition or modification of all courses and programs, the oversight of the general education curriculum, grade review council and ensuring that all couarses/programs adhere to quality standards of the univ.

    Member:

2006-2007:  President Selection Advisory Council: Member of committee to review candidates for university president. This committee sent forward to IHL a slate of candidates that would be acceptable to the university and community. IHL will select from this group the new president of USM

2006-2007:  Provost Council: Member of Provost council, which meets monthly with representatives of all colleges to review and recommend university-wide activities related to student learning.

2006-2007:  Distance Learning Committee: Member of a 10 person committee that establishes policy for all distance learning activities, including web-based, independent study, and off-site courses. Recommends hardware/software acquisitions and upgrades.

2006-2007:  Shared Governance: Draft policy on shared governance to be utilized by university administration.

2005-2006:  Academic Council: Representative of College of Business
