Professional Honors and Achievements
Dr. Smith received a Ph.D in accounting from Louisiana State university in 1988 and taught at Boston University and Georgia State University before arriving at Southern Miss in the fall of 1995. Bob is a frequent contributor to the professional and academic accounting literature and is an active member of the American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, and other professional and academic organizations. Bob is a certified public accountant and has worked for international public accounting firms.
