Academic Experience

Assistant Professor, University of Southern Mississippi (July, 2001 - Present).  

Visiting Instructor, University of Southern Mississippi (August, 1999 - July, 2001).  

Visiting Assistant Professor, Oklahoma State University (August, 1998 - July, 1999).  

Non-Academic Experience

Executive Director, Joplin Workshops, Inc. (October, 1985 - July, 1993).   Chief Executive Officer of the not-for-profit corporation having annual sales to business and industry of $3 million, and responsibility for over 230 employees. Developed and implemented strategic plan with entrepreneurial focus, using renovation, expansion, and creation of new business units to increase employment of target population of people with disabilities. Most significant business unit developed: $800,000 healthcare linen facility, employing 60 people. Development process included creating business plan, developing support from key constituencies, obtaining SBA and commercial bank financing, facility design and construction, and supervision of startup.
