Connoisseurs Series: Quink Ensemble
Connoisseurs Series: Quink Ensemble
Quink, the primarily a cappella ensemble, had its inception in 1978 and has risen to the top of its field and has been invited to perform in prestigious concert series around the world. The remarkable, five-member Dutch vocal ensemble of three women and two men are professional singers who have developed a virtuosic and “unique sound which allows them to illustrate with style and expressiveness the great variety of a cappella music” that consists of music from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, and some by Romantic composers. Quink periodically performs folk songs and close harmony and concludes their concerts with lighter arrangements. A number of contemporary Dutch, German and American compositions have been dedicated to Quink. The ensemble tours the U.S. twice a year, and the Connoisseurs Series is pleased to host them as one of their venues. The internationally recognized ensemble will provide a special master class in the performance of early music for our choral ensembles and soloists.
This event also marks the grand reopening of the recently renovated Frank Earl Marsh Auditorium.
