Chronicling her experience of relocating from New Mexico to living on her family’s farm in the Mississippi Delta, the photographic exhibit, “Into the Flatland” by Kathleen Robbins, is now on display at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

Displayed on the library’s third floor, the exhibit features over 40 framed photographs depicting Robbins’ exploration of her family’s land while living in her great-grandmother’s home.

“Living on the farm, I existed in a strange continuum,” described Robbins. “My family's history and their connection to this place were markedly present in my everyday experience.”

The exhibit, on display through January 31, will feature a public lecture by Robbins as she discusses her works. The library is open Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. The library is closed during holidays and hours are subject to change during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday break.

The roundtable will include Dr. Douglas Bristol, Dr. Luther Brown, Kathleen Robbins and C. Sade Turnipseed.
