The Center for Oral History and Cultural Heritage and the Center for the Study of the Gulf South will sponsor a talk and book signing:  "The Story of ‘Thunder of Freedom,’ from the Congressional Challenge to the 1967 Elections" with Sue [Lorenzi] Sojourner and Cheryl Reitan.

During 1964-65, Sue [Lorenzi] Sojourner worked as a community organizer and civil rights activist in Holmes County, Mississippi, where she worked to elect Robert Clark, the first African-American legislator since Reconstruction.

The talk is March 18, 5:00 p.m., Polymer Science Auditorium, Room 101, on the Hattiesburg campus of The University of Southern Mississippi.

A book signing will follow the presentation.
