GradSchools.com enables one to perform specific or general searches for the type of program(s) one is interested in, searchable by state, region, country, etc.

Embark.com which is maintained by the Princeton Review offers various tips about:
  • Selecting the right graduate or professional school.
  • Graduate programs and opportunities in your field.
  • Preparing for the GRE, MCAT, LSAT and other graduate entrance exams, and improving your scores.
  • Various scholarship and financial aid information.
Books:

Graduate school decision guides, available at www.gre.org/decision.html, provide information about programs in art and architecture, biology, education, engineering and computer science, health professions, humanities, physical sciences, psychology, and social sciences. These books cost $16 plus shipping.

Books on most types of graduate and professional programs are available from Kaplan Online at www.kaptest.com/catalog/Category.jhtml.

Graduate and Professional School Entrance Exams: Web sites:

Powerscore.com offers information on GRE, GMAT and LSAT preparation courses; course locations; graduate and professional admissions counseling; and exam tutoring information.

www.aamc.org/students/mcat/start.htm is the official Web site for the MCAT exam and offers information on registration, testing dates, online practice questions and exams, and guidebooks for the exam.

Guidebooks:

Guidebooks on taking the GRE, GMAT and LSAT are available on Powerscore.com at costs starting at $19.95. Some of their guidebooks also offer practice tests from prior test forms.

Resume and Interviewing: Web sites:

Vault.com offers guidelines and articles on how to construct a resume and cover letter and also provides helpful tips on preparing for job interviews.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

www.petersons.com provides a search tool to find scholarship and determine financial aid eligibility.

David HanburyDavid Hanbury is a sophomore majoring in psychology and is a member of the Honors College as well as the Honors Student Association. For the past year and a half, David has been conducting bushbaby research with Dr. Sheree Watson. He works as an office assistant at the Southern Miss Research Foundation. In the future David hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in experiemental psychology.
