The Center for Community and Civic Engagement (CCCE) promotes community service and service-learning on the University of Southern Mississippi campus and throughout the Hattiesburg community through partnerships with faculty, students, staff, and community partners. Each year, the office documents more than 100,000 hours of community service by Southern Miss students.  In 2010, Southern Miss was awarded with the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement and is regularly recognized on the President's Honor Roll for Community Service.

The CCCE provides opportunities for meaningful and reciprocal relationships that promote positive community change and enhance student learning. Through civic engagement, community collaboration, and personal reflection, the CCCE prepares students to serve as active, citizen leaders in a global community.
