College Knowledge Project

What is the College Knowledge Project?

The College Knowledge Project (CKP) is a higher education initiative of the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL). We educate students, their families, school staff, and community partners about the importance of planning and preparing for college early.

What do Near Peer Mentors do?

Near Peers help middle schoolers turn their college aspirations into action by helping them to understand the college going process and campus life.

How do Near Peers work with students?

Near Peers guide students through a range of interactive workshops and activities to help them build a solid educational pathway from middle school to high school and onto college entrance.

Why is this important?

Because the fastest growing job fields require a degree higher than a high school diploma and by 2018, 54% of jobs in Mississippi will require education beyond high school.

Join us as we help Mississippi students and their families prepare for the future, now.
