

Gaye Winter's research paper, "Factors Which Predict Faculty Use of Technology at USM", was chosen as the top paper for the Department of Educational Leadership and Research.
The School Psychology Doctoral Program is pleased to announce that all of the students who
participated in the Association of Psychology Postdoctorial and Internship Centers (APPIC)
Internship Centers (APPIC) Match Program successfully acquired an internship position with an
with an APA-accredited site. In 2008, the nation-wide, the percentage of students matching with
an internship site was 79%.

Jasmin G. Bowden wins a very competitive summer internship.
Jasmin, a graduate student in the Department of Child and Family Studies, was awarded a
a very competitive internship for the Summer in Child Life at Children's Hospital in
Philidelphia, home to the top-ranked Child Life program in the nation.
Jasmin also earned second-place recognition in the Student Research Competition held at
the Mississippi Association of Family Sciences Annual Conference in Jackson. Her
research, “The Importance of the Father Role for Daughters’ Development, “ was conducted
with Dr. Lloyd Pickering, Assistant Professor in Child and Family Sciences.
Tiwari Goins named Teacher of the Year at Canton Elementary School in December.
Tiwari, a Library and Information Sciences graduate student, was also named District
Teacher of the Year in January.
Amanda Eldridge posted the highest GPA in Honor's College.
Amanda, a Library and Information Sciences student, was also bestowed the honor of presentation
of the Honor's College banner at graduation ceremonies.
