Several ongoing seminar series are of interest to members of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. These are listed below, in priority order:
Each fall and spring the department hosts a series of seminars by outside speakers on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., normally in TEC 106. Refreshments are served prior to the seminar. Dr. Paige Buchanan is the seminar coordinator.
Graduate students in the department are required to make a public presentation of their research each year. These often include prospectus, thesis, or dissertation defenses. Thursday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. are set aside for these seminars, usually in WSB 120. Everyone in the department is strongly encouraged to attend these seminars to learn about ongoing research and support the students.
