Purpose:

The Child Life Student Association (CLSA) was established in January 1999. The association was designed to enhance the professional growth and development opportunities for current Child Life students. Association activities include, but are not limited to, monthly meetings, site visits to various Child Life programs, monthly professional speakers, special events throughout the year, involvement in community service projects, and participation in health education programs for young children. 

Membership:

The membership of this organization shall be open to regularly enrolled Undergraduate students in Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Life.

Officers:

The officers of the organization include: The President, the Vice President, the Treasurer, the Secretary/Editor, Community Service/ Philanthropy chair, and the Historian. They are elected at the end of each Spring semester.

Dues:

Dues in the amount of $10.00 shall be collected from each regular member each semester.

Past Activities:

• Planned afternoon activities on the pediatric unit at USA Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
• Painted ceiling tiles for the Pediatric Unit of Forrest General Hospital.
• Participated in day-long program (Rainy Days and Rainbows) for child who have lost a parent or grandparent in the past year.
