Research: The majority of my research focuses on parenting education and providing quality childcare in Mississippi.  Currently, I am completing a book that illustrates the connections between effective parenting and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (Maslow, 1970).  I am also in the preliminary stages of research for another book that will connect Family Systems Theory with other relevant theories in Child and Family Studies. 

Outreach: I serve as a reviewer for the Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences Education, as a member of the Executive Board of the Mississippi Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and as a presenter for Staff Development in the Hattiesburg Public School District
