Research Interests: My research interests lie in the areas of program evaluation, the teaching/learning process, aging, and public policy. Currently, Dr. Ann Blackwell and I are involved in a longitudinal study of the effects of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program. Parents and children in the Petal, MS School District who participate in the PAT program are being followed from birth through 3rd grade.

I am also working on a research project with Dr. Cliff Burgess to enhance the quality of life of elderly persons by helping them stay in their own homes through the use of a computer augmented system that facilitates environmental control

Outreach
I have served on many national committees including the Certified Family Life Education Academic Program Review Committee, National Council on Family Relations and the Public Policy Committee of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. I review manuscripts for the Journal of Teaching Marriage and Family: Innovations in Family Science Education and Dimensions of Early Childhood Education.
