October, 2003- The Children's Center for Communication and Development has partially moved and is in the process of expanding, The space recently vacated by the DuBard School is now home to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with special needs.
All services will be provided on the first floor of the S R S Building after structural renovations are completed.
Presently, there are immediate benefits to the move, including larger treatment rooms allowing for more co-therapy sessions among disciplines, direct access to the playground, and a waiting area for families.
Most importantly, additional children will be served, which will allow for expanded opportunities for our university students who work with C C C D's interdisciplinary teams.
The Center's Resource Loan Library quickly expanded into its new space and will hold more items in the near future. This valuable resource for our community gives teachers, parents, and students a place to check out materials useful for the preschool population with communication and developmental disabilities.
