"It is an honor to be asked by Gov. Barbour to continue my service through the State Interagency Coordinating Council for Early Intervention," Brinegar said. "This council allows me to bring my work experiences in pediatric speech-language pathology to the forefront to assist our state in furthering services to infants and toddlers with disabilities and improving those services."

Brinegar, a native of Natchez, currently serves on the Oral Facials Anomalies Team at Forrest General Hospital. She is a past member of the Early Intervention Study Group of the Mississippi Department of Education and Department of Health; Leaders Focus Group, linking infants from the neonatal intensive care unit to community services at Forrest General Hospital; and the Forrest County Early Childhood Development Coalition.

Margaret's commitment to this council has been outstanding, and I appreciate her willingness to continue promoting early intervention so developmentally challenged children can have a better chance at improving their educational and skill levels, as well as enhancing their quality of life," Barbour said.
