Jeffery D (Jeff) May, Interim Director of ETS
Mr. Jeff May is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, College of Science and Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (1983). His service to the university includes his work with the Office of the CIO, iTech and Chapter Advisor for Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Since graduating from Southern Miss, Mr. May has experience in business management, management consulting and software development, in a variety of industries including K-12 Education, state/local government, telecommunications, inter-modal transportation, and advertising. He joined the field of Higher Education in 2007 after selling the systems integration/implementation company he managed for 10+ years. The company, Third Day Solutions, LLC, developed K-12 student information systems for several state’s Department of Education, including the MS Department of Education.
Beyond his work at Southern Miss, Mr. May is actively involved in his church and with his family. He is married, has a son and daughter that are both alumni of Southern Miss (2009) and a daughter that he hopes will choose Southern Miss in a few years. He serves as a member of the Simpson County Healthcare Board of Directors and Financial Committee, Treasurer and member of the Simpson County Community Foundation Board of Directors.
What does the Director of Enterprise Technology Solutions do?
- Manages, coordinates and facilitates the daily operations and long-range planning of the university's Enterprise Technology systems. These systems include ERP systems (SOAR, SOARFIN), databases, websites, portals and other applications essential to the business of the university.
- The ETS Team is comprised of a group of highly talented and deeply devoted personnel whose primary focus is helping to ensure the availability of systems that help manage the enterprise of Southern Miss.
