The
Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education's Scholarship
Committee consists of the following faculty: Anne Sylvest, Co-Chair
and Linda McDowell, Co-Chair. The Individual committee members are
Melissa Clark, David Daves, Hollie Filce, Lori Fos, Marilyn Foxworth,
Elgen Hillman, Rose Jones, Perrin Lowrey, Christa Martin, Ellen Ramp,
and Kelley Sambliss.
The
Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and special Education's Awards
committee is composed of the following individuals: Shirley Bowles,
Gary Dearman, Wendy Dearman, Holly Hulbert, Frances Karnes, Eric Luce,
Beth Richmond, Jake Saeger, David Walker, and Sue Whitcomb.
There
will be approximately 30 scholarships awarded to students majoring
in elementary or special education for the 2005-2006 academic year.
The amounts of these scholarships range from $250 to full payment
of tuition. Requirements vary widely across scholarships. For example,
some scholarships require a minimum GPA while others do not. Other
scholarships may have such requirements as evidence of financial need
and/or demonstration of leadership.
Final confirmation of all scholarship information should be available
by the end of March; a list will then be posted in the Speech, Reading,
and Special Education (SRS) building. The deadline for submitting
applications is April 1; application
forms will be available in SRS 143.

has developed numerous awards to provide students within the program
the opportunity to be recognized for their efforts and scholarly work
