Association for Childhood Education
International (ACEI)
As
Chair of the Student ACEI Organization, Dr. Rose Jones, is accompanied
by additional faculty and students with this challenge. The additional
help comes from Dr. MaryBeth Evans, Dr. Marilyn Foxworth, Dr. Marilyn Larmon, Dr. Hani Morgan
, Dr. Anne Sylvest, and Ms. Anna Trest. The first
student organization of its kind, in Mississippi, is thriving and
building membership daily. Focus on early childhood education and
service activities remain paramount for this service organization.

Kappa Delta Pi
Dr. Anne Sylvest, Assistant Professor and Director for Educational Field Experiences serves as senior advisor for this honorary international educational society: Dr. Ellen Ramp and Dr. Marsha Walters also serve as advisors.
Students are involved in service activities as well as professional
learning opportunities which enhance their learning with regard to
teacher education initiatives. Membership is open to those individuals
meeting the appropriate criteria. For information related to the membership

Student Education Association (SEA)
The
Student Education Association is an extension of the Mississippi Education
Association operating at the state level. The Student Education Association
is designed to promote an understanding of pre service teachers knowledge
related to issues of legislation, work benefits, and professional
practices taking place state and nation wide. As a part of the National
Education Association the SEA receives numerous benefits with regard
to legislative updates and information related to teaching. Anyone
interested in becoming a part of this organization should contact

Midsouth Educational
Research Association (MSERA)
The
Mid-South Educational Research Association is a regional organization
related to the American Educational Research Association. Faculty
in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education
are predominantly involved in this organization and ensure that graduate
students are involved also. November Conferences are held on an annual
basis and continually recruit student and faculty enrollment. This
organization focuses on presentation of research of all kinds related
