Communication Studies, B.A.

The department offers two degrees, the B.A. and the B.S. Both require a 25-hour core of foundational courses and 15 hours of electives in the major. Additionally, students in both degree programs must take the university's general education curriculum and 21 hours of liberal arts courses. The B.A. includes a requirement for the study of foreign language and the B.S. includes a requirement for the study of quantitative reasoning or statistics.

02. Select 1 course:  ENG 200 or ENG 201 or ENG 202 or FLM 170 or HIS 201 or HIS 202 or WS 301

03. Select 1 course not selected in GEC 03:  ANT 101 or GHY 101 or PS 201 or SOC 101

04. Select 1 option:

a. minimum of 12 hours in a single foreign language

b. minimum of 9 hours in a single foreign language and 3 hours chosen from: ANT 221 or CMS 340 or CMS 499 or ENG 313 or PS 350 or REL 460 or an approved humanities elective with a focus on cultural awareness.
