STUDENT AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
What is this program? Select
undergraduate majors in the
College of
Science
and Technology will serve one- or two-year terms as Ambassadors for the
College. Ambassadors will have an
opportunity to attend special meetings with the Dean at which they can share
their views and perspectives about their academic experiences at USM. They
will act as hosts at special events, serve as tour guides for visitors to the
College, and will serve as peer mentors in the Freshman Mentor Program. All
students chosen to be
College of
Science and Technology
Ambassadors will be given a distinctive shirt to wear when carrying out their
official functions.
Who is eligible to
participate? Students who
will have sophomore, junior or senior status in the Spring of 2007 and who
major in one of the programs in the
College of
Science
and Technology are eligible to apply. A
minimum GPA of 2.75 is required.
Who will be selected? The
Ambassadors will be those students who have the ability to be excellent
representatives of the College. We
are seeking individuals who have strong academic records, who enjoy interacting
with others, and who would find it satisfying to serve the College in this way.
How does one apply for
this program? Applications
are available in the Dean's Office (TEC 103 or in the various departmental
offices.
Applications for the 2007-2008 program must include a current resume and
a letter of recommendation sent directly to the dean's office.
