Sustainability Initiative

The University of Southern Mississippi began a recycling program in 1992 involving students as well as faculty and staff. Southern Miss was the first university in the state to begin a recycling program. Since its inception, Southern Miss has recycled over 3,952,056 pounds of recyclables and proved a net value of $134,811 to the University.
